A collective of proven operators

We build the software we'd want to run.

inhouselabs is a collective of proven operators. We build SaaS products in house, and back founders who have lived the problem they're solving.

What we do

Three disciplines, one team.

Build

Products engineered in house, from first line of code to first customer. Small teams, senior hands.

Back

Seed investment in software where our operating experience compounds the outcome.

Operate

Go-to-market, structure and scale. The parts after the demo that decide the result.

How we work

Start small. Get it working. Build from there.

AI has changed what a small team can attempt. The ability to spot a problem, explain it clearly and check the result is what keeps paying its way. That is the method we use on everything we build.

  1. Start with a problem you understand

The best products come from people who have lived the problem. We start with what you know about your work or industry, not with the technology.

  2. Make it concrete

A clear brief and a small first version. One useful feature that does one job well beats a long list of ideas.

  3. Prove that it works

Every change has a purpose and a way to check it. We decide what a good result looks like before we build, then test against it.

  4. Build beyond the first demo

Accounts, customer data, security and releases. The unglamorous parts that decide whether real customers can rely on it.

About

A career spent making things work better.

inhouselabs was founded by Tom Moore. He started with freelance clients, built a process automation business by hand, grew it to £5m a year in revenue and 30+ people, and then exited to align with the generational shift in the market.

Before and alongside that, he built systems and efficiencies in defence and for global corporates. Together, the team brings a combined 60 years of knowledge across tech development, sales and management: working out what matters, what breaks and what is just noise.

inhouselabs is the venture studio that experience built: a place to develop our own products and invest in people with ideas worth building.
